The Alabama Launchpad is a start-up business competition sponsored by the Economic Partnership Development of Alabama.  IllumiCare began as one of 22 applicants in the competition.  It went through a series of business and financial plan reviews as well as oral presentations and Q&A by a distinguished panel of judges.  The competition culminated in final presentations to both judges and the public at Workplay in Birmingham.

In the end, IllumiCare was voted the winner and received a grant of $100,000.  The award was made by the Governor at the annual Innovation Awards.
